I’m not seeing many video (or written) reviews of the 2022 Sportsman 850. I’m waiting on an Ultimate Trail Edition pre-order and would like to hear from those who already received theirs (or similar).

Any early impressions? Issues? Comparisons? Etc?

Not much different from 2017 to 2022 all share the same body styles and features.

I don’t think anything has changed since last year.
I have a 21 850 base model, rides like a Cadillac and has plenty of power. Not sure if the ultimate trail has stiffer springs or not. My buddy has a 21 scrambler and it rides rough compared to mine. It corners better though.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention, I purchased 44mm wheel bearing tool, so I greased the wheel bearings, also there was no grease in any of the a-arm bushings so I greased all those. I would change engine oil and filter around 5-7 hours and rear differential oil. I pulled back my pre-filter so air filter would slide all the in to air box. Also did the sway bar update.

Weird they don’t fix things like the sway bar. And I thought somehow the bushings now don’t require greasing, or did I just make that up?

So they probably also didn’t change the belt box air intake/exhaust then? Might have to extend the exhaust out of the way of mud/water and mayyybe snorkel(ish) the intake.

@ JasonMac: how cold we talking here? I thought the battery was upgraded this year… 🤨

Some models have sealed bushings, I think anything with arched A arms so no grease fittings on them.
