I have a 1999 magnum 325 and the AWD is activating on its own when the switch is off. I unplugged the wires going to my front hubs to see if i still came on and somehow it did. My understanding is that the hubs are engaged via electromagnet, so how are they locking in without power. It also seems to happen at higher rpms with the rear wheels spinning. any help is appreciated.

If you have the incorrect fluid in the front hubs (or no fluid) and the rear wheels spin violently enough, inertia can cause the front hubs to lock, also if the tire sizes have been changed, it can aggravate the phenomena.
Polaris calls for On Demand Fluid - a good substitute is ATF - Remove the cap from the hub to drain out the old oil and check for cleanliness - should not be any grease or sludge in there - if it appears that there is grease or grunge in the hub, remove all the parts and wash in solvent or diesel fuel until grease and grunge free, dry off, assemble, fill the hub as per the manual and see if the problem is solved.
