try calling the service department of a few polaris shops and see what they are using. a good quality service shop would have no problem telling you over the phone what they use

Crank nut

Been there done that! Use a dull chisel. It works just fine. Be careful, that nut has left hand threads. When you replace it, clean it, dry it and put a small amount of medium locktite on it.

Surely there is an "official" Polaris tool for the job though. What is the Polaris tool number for removing this 4-slotted nut on the crankshaft? I need one too and I'll be damned if I am going to ruin the nut and who knows what else by using a chisel. Just sayin!

The nut part number is 3085528. AKA "Slit Nut. It is found on many different Polaris models.
