Have a 335 that will not go into low gear. Have disconnected the shifter and in will shift and lock in the low position. Have tried manual shift with a wrench and it seem to move free, but will nor engage low. Before I start the long process of removing transmission does anyone have advise or has experienced this? Can the dog be stuck on the shaft? No grinding noise or anything.. Thx
PS High and reverse work fine

Hi and reverse are selected with the same shift fork - low is a separate shift fork and engagement dog - if the shifter bell crank moves and locks in position, but low does not engage, the problem is probably a broken shift dog, a bad low gear and possibly a bad shift fork too, but might just be a bad fork or a bad shift dog or something else entirely, but the problem is almost guaranteed to be in the gearbox.
