I’ve researched it and see it is
“Steering over current shutdown

what exactly does that mean? I have seen a multitude of “maybe it is this” posts but nothing concrete.

seems if I throw her back on the battery tender, it doesn’t happen.
14.4v when running.

read to use dielectric grease in all connections including those in the left front wheel well.

while I’m at it, is this a ground point I can use for whatever?

Voltage regulator starting to act up? also check the wires coming from the stator, that 3 Yellow wire plug likes to get warm...

Probably caked in mud.

is it just coincidental that charging the battery makes it go away?

I think by charging the battery steers me to the stator plug....because with the battery charged up less amps travel through the plug, as you use amps it calls for more and then heats up causing the issue/resistance.

Do you know where that plug is?
I have the service manual to dig out tomorrow if needed. Thx as always.

Remove the Drivers side inner fender, look to the rear can't miss it.
