I have a 2008 sportsman 800 that is completly stock except for a k&n air filter. The bike seems to lack in power mostly on the top end. It also seems to use alot of fuel. I am comparing it to a razer that we have. Are these usual qualities in this atv? Does anyone have any ideas to give more power and help with fuel milage? Thanks!

what do you mean by no power...how fast has the quad gone and i don't really think you want to compare it to a Raz.....first thing i'd do is change the sparkplugs,I changed my'in to the ridiums 1x's and got a much better power boost...you've changed air filter to K&N good choice as for gas mileage their all pigs...without sinking more money into thats the best your going to get...you could change the exhaust and other things but your only going to get a small% of power of it without spending money...I setup my 500Ho for the woods...changed plugs, airfilter, tires and an EPI clutch setup...and i got a much better responce on the trails and mudd..Muddie49

Welcome!

My '07 800 has 27" tires with a Dalton primary spring and it gets 15 mpg and tops out over 70 mph!

That's the price you have to pay!

I'm not farmiliar with changing anything with the clutches mainly because this is the first atv I've owned with external clutches. What does the different clutch spring do exactly? I was also wondering if now that your atv has more top end, did you lose anything noticable with the bottom end of performance?
