I have a 96 sportsman 500. i try to crank and nothing happens. not even a click. but i notice the neutral light isn't on and if i shift it in reverse, the reverse light comes on. whats goin on here?

It'll crank in any gear. Neutral light out is a bulb blown or wire loose. Nothing to do with whether it starts or not.

I have battery power new soleniod and am not getting it to turn or any thing. any ideas?
