Bought the 4-wheeler and had to rebuild the top end. Engine starts on first pull and runs great. But I have noticed that when you wide open throttle from a dead stop that you can here what sounds like gears grinding. Also makes the noise when climbing small hills. Seems like it does it when the trans is under a lot of torque There is no noise when shifting in forward or reverse. Any ideas?

Might be time for a silent chain.

In the transmission, there a short chain that thru the years of use gets stretched out and starts making the type of noises you've described.
Let it go too long and you'll need somebody to pull you up the hills and back to the truck.

All it takes is a lil patience and some common sence.
If you don't have a service manual for your model, you should purchase one, sometimes you can download them for free. You'll have to do some searchin'.
Check the gears that the chain rides on , if they any kind of pattern wear, you should replace those as well, if not the new installed chain will not last very long.
