I have the 2 stroke engine, the vent tube on very bottom of the carb....it was dry rotted and I have the stuff to replace it. I was wondering if it goes up like the rest of the vents or down? It has a check valve on it as well. It was down and drips gas a little bit so that made me wonder if it was pointing the wrong direction. Thanks in advance!

That is the bowl drain. If it's dripping gas the drain screw may be loose or damaged. It just goes down under the machine and isn't really necessary other than to keep the gas from draining all over the engine if you drain it for storage.

I appreciate the reply. I didn't know that if I had it up where it wouldn't drain it might make it flood easily. I will see if I can locate that screw and see what it needs. Thanks again.

Some of the "mudders" re-route them just so they don't plug up with mud, but as mentioned, they usually just hang down to the frame.
