My son broke a link on the rear wheel chain. Should I just replace a link or is it better to purchase new chain. If I need to replace what is the difference between an O-Ring chain and a Non O-Ring chain? I see both for sale online.

Thanks for your help!!!!!!!!!

On a regular chain you need to lube it on a regular basis, not so much on an O-ring chain as there's o rings on each side of the links, so lube is inside the links. I'd still lube if you run in water/mud very much. If the chain has already broke I'd replace it and keep the other for a spare on the trails. They make 1/2 links along with regular master links. I carry a few of each plus a small length of chain just in case. OK?

If the sprockets are hook shaped I would replace them also. A O-ring chain is better. Sometimes you can buy a complete chain and sprocket kit for all 3 chains at a resonable price. The chain size is 520.
