Bought a 98 Xplorer 300 project and it's exactly that. Long story short I have no history of the quads previous runnability, but I did rebuild the carburetor with a kit. I have no previous experience with carburetors, so this is a learning curve. First crank the quad started immediately. I adjusted the main idle screw and got it running smoothly for about 5min. After idling I rode it around the yard a couple laps around 1/4 throttle. I gave it one 1/2 - 3/4 throttle hit, and it immediately bogged and shut off.

Now - The motor cranks easily, has plenty of spark ( I pulled the plug out and it's a little discolored) and I pulled the fuel line to make sure I had flow, which I do. When spraying staring fluid into the intake it starts immediately till burning off the fluid (couple seconds) and then shuts off. I'm assuming it's not getting fuel or at least that's what it's acting like.

Hoping for some guidance. I'm mechanically inclined but my background is industrial, and this is the first carb I've worked on. Is it possible I assembled the carb incorrectly? I would have thought it wouldn't have run as long as it did if not.

Thank you for the help!

Carburetor needsa thorough cleaning in a heated sonic cleaner - a kit just contains parts - properly cleaned most carbs do not need a kit.
