don't have a manual for this but took carb out to soak and clean. (constant drain from overflow even while running). New to me vehicle. When I took the plunger out of the top, As i removed the cable from the plunger everything slipped out of my grasp and I LOST a plate that locks the cable into the plunger. Would like to know the name of that part and a Number for it. Spent hours looking and no luck finding it.:str: No plate, no go, not good!

Don't worry, as soon as you wait a week for the dealer to get you one and get it installed, the old one will fall out on the ground in the garage. Never fails.
So true, I've always said "If you want to find something, replace it and you will trip over the old one in 10 minutes."

Dealer had NONE. If ordered he'd have it by next Friday. Online, $6.83 plus $10+ shipping and still Mon or Tues. Oh well, Make one. NO sheet brass in shop or nearby town. Think....think....brass tubing? Home Despot plumbing pipe! Any way I got it cut and split a length, laid it out and cut it. It worked really well.

Next question. In the last pic that fitting seems to need to be tied into the tube coming out the bowl overflow. Is that correct? Oops! will post again for last pic.

Thanks, Grady

That fitting is for the carb bowl vent. It should have it's own hose that goes from there up to a hole on the inside of the upper frame rail below the fuel tank. The one on the bottom is the bowl overflow fitting/hose. It should run down and have a one-way check valve in it.

OK thanks , that is in sight, no problem. Then where does the black plastic, right-angle fitting on the side of the carb connect?.....Lotsa' things not there when I picked this up

:hmmm:

That should be a vent line also. Do you see more than line going up?

No. As I got it, there was a line down off the bowl with a tee in the middle (connected to nothing) and with the valve at the bottom. The upper vent line (into the frame) was not connected nor the one on the side of the carb. All 3 are the same diameter.

Sorry to be such a PITA!

thanks, Grady

Kit on the way. Still running gas like a sieve. ya' know, I really don't understand $36-$52 for a needle and seat when a kit can be had for $16-$30?!?!?
