I have a 99 Sportsman 500 it shifts into H, L, N, and D perfect the linkage is fine my problem is i think the clutches. When I shift the bike from neutral to high and take off the rpms get real high around 7-10mph and never seem to drop back down so I can go faster. Would this be something to do with my clutches not working right? I know they don't shift the clutches are supposed to change the rpms for the speed or something?

Yup, like latebird said, clutches need servicing and sounds like your belt is slipping, so it’s likely glazed. Pull the clutch cover and inspect. There are plenty of YouTube videos that explain what to look for in a CVT clutch inspection if you are unfamiliar with them.
