I have a '99 Sportsman 500 which is having problems shifting out of 4 wheel drive. When shifting from 4 wheel to 2 wheel the steering pulls to the right hard. It appears as if the right axle will not transferr out of 4 wheel drive. Any help or ideas.

Thanks

You need to back up.

In the manual for my '96, it says that when you shift out of 4wd, you may need to back the machine up to disengage the front hubs completely. It's kind of a pita, but it beats fighting the pull.

Try that, hope it helps.

you may also find that backing up dosen't help all the time. check the oil level in your front end, i've seen alot of seals leaking on the hubs and i've seen alot of armeture plates wore out causing a magnatizm. Cheap easy fix for the most part. let us know how you come out.
