Adjusting RVS clutch kit

I’m new to the forum and was hoping someone may be able to offer some advice or insight. I recently purchased a 2019 Sportsman XP 1000. It has a clutch kit from the previous owner. The clutch seems really soft to me and feels like it’s lost acceleration as compared to other 1000 sportsman I’ve had. It doesn’t feel like it pulls very hard at all. Are there adjustments that can be made to this clutch to improve its performance? The owner gave me the original clutch parts so I can return to factory if needed. At it is now, I think the factory clutch would perform better. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

There should be a couple of aluminum spacer washers that get installed prior to the primary spring. Adding these washers will increase the rpm engagement. Your best bet is to take pictures of what you have ( colour of primary and secondary springs and primary weights with adjustment screws). Contact Ryan at RVS, show him the pics, tell him your riding style and how you want the machine to perform, and he will provide the necessary weight adjustments and/or springs.

I had an RVS kit in my 15 850. Never really got much improvment over stock clutching for the way I ride. Left my clutches stock on my 18 1000 and now my 22 1000 is all stock and will leave it. The factory setup is a good setup for general riding. Install your stock clutching and see how you like it. You can alway re-install the Kit later or sell it.

It is probably a good time to take it apart anyhow and do a good cleaning and look for warn parts anyhow. Clean, intall stock and see if it works for you.

I have to agree , I have the same clutch kit. I timed 0-60 before and after. Slower with RVS kit. Very smooth though.

Im flashed as well

Never noticed what shift out rpm I was at before clutch kit but after was like 6750 rpm. Should be around 7100 I believe.
Spoke with ryan I i ended up putting 1 shim under primary spring and took the allan set screw out of tip of weights. By taking the weight out of tip they now weigh the same as stock weight This brought up shift out to like 6900-7000 rpm.

I have duals on as well as flash and a stock 850 bike with stock tires is right beside and could easily go around me at 70mph. I have the stock 27" tires on mine
Stock my bike could bang rev limiter at 82 mph easy on stretch of highway before flash , duals etc. every thing I put on slowed me down

If you are opening clutch case upgrade the square plastic pucks for the round ones. you will probably see significant wear on aluminum secondary already. Mine was worn with a good ridge. hiled off and installed round rollers
Next time i open mine up i will go back to stock set up to se how it runs

Call Ryan though he has great support maybe can work out your issues

Thanks for the info. Just wanted everyone to know it appears my issue was with the tune. Somehow the tune became screwed up. I reflashed with correct tune and it appears to have solved my problem. Now when I deck the throttle the front wheels come straight off the ground.
What tune do you have?
What's your clutch setup?
