I bought a 1997 Polaris explorer the engine was tied up and pull out I had it rebuilt and I put it in now I always have spark even if I the black wire out of cdi box straight to ground I tried replacing the cdi box what could be wrong
The black wire routs through the throttle safety switch, kill switch and cdi, and also ties into the reverse limiter and ignition switch. Trace it around and make sure it's connected where it should be.
Hard ont eh charging system to run them without the battery hooked up. They help stabilize voltage and absorb extra power. And also power the high draw items without damaging your stator.
