OK I have a challenge for you tech folks. I am out of answers. I have a 2004 1/2 sportsman 400. Once it gets warmed up it kills and will not start again. It can be idling or going down the road. Actually if I choke it it will start and run for a little while but will kill again. I need to let it sit overnight before it starts again. I have cleaned the carb. Replaced the coil, Surefre box and CDI. Not the answer. Not sure if this is related but about a year ago I started to have battery drain. I was told my winch was drawing power. Not sure if that was accurate or not but I just put a deadman on the battery. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated!

Had a needle and seat act the same way for me. It got where it would put fuel in the air box is how I found mine. Check your air box drain hose for signs of gas.

A bad needle and seat will cause all kinds of issues, sounds like its loading up with fuel to me. I'd replace the needle and seat. Both of my Polaris snowmobiles were doing what your atv is. On one it was so bad that the crank would actually fill up with fuel. NOT good. Also it might be time to rebuild the fuel pump while your in there. Cheap insurance.
