Hey guys,
This is probably going to sound dumb - but has anyone had difficulty replacing their battery? I’m in the process of replacing mine - because of course the one from the factory was crap. I have the new one in, positive terminal connected - but when I try to screw in the negative one, no dice. I take the terminal away and the screw goes into the nut no problem - but over an hour now of trying to get the screw threaded back there with the terminal on. I’ve threaded them sans terminal, carefully backed the screw out - put it on, tried to screw it down and no luck.
This is making me nuts. Anyone else have this issue or any suggestions?

You have to put a small screwdriver in underneath the nut to hold it up so that it can connect to the bolt to get it started

I think the guy who designed the 570 actually hated 4 wheelers and was trying to get back at us. My old Xplorer 400 had the battery in the rear over the left tire. Took 5 minutes for a battery change. I bought a battery relocation kit from Quad Logic for about $75.00. It puts the battery back in that rear location. The kit was excellently made and came with everything needed. No more killing myself to get to the battery. Made oil filter changes easier, too.

Boy my life must suck so bad cause I don’t see any issues with any maintenance on battery.

One of the first mods on my 2019 was to install the Battery Tender pigtail to the battery, seal up the connections with battery spray and plug my timer in the wall outlet. That's the one and only time it was me and my battery 21 months ago.

I split a piece of clear vinyl tubing and put it under the nut to ease installation

Its so funny the battery NAZI's!!!! All I can say to them is DON'T buy a canned ham!!!!!!!!! Want to know where the battery is?????????? Best place ever, under the seat! Easiest battery to access! Thats where the fun ends or begins depending on your perspective. Oh and by the way I've had the battery out several times in the 1,000 miles I have on it. The perimeter gap from battery to machine fills with debris! Oh the 570 we own I've had the battery out ZERO times in the 1,000 miles it has on it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I use a zip tie instead of a screw driver to hold the nut up, can't short out that way.

Being a electrician , I ball up about one inch of electrical tape and stick it under the nut to keep it in place , works like a charm !

I've had the same problem when trying to put more than one wire on this type of battery terminal. If the above suggestions don't work for you, it may be because the screws are or become too short with anymore than one wire connected to them. Go to the auto parts store, take your original screws with you, and buy longer ones. If they are too long so as to hit the casing of the battery when tightened, use some washers on top of the connection to shear them up. I put battery tender connectors and a Dobec connector on one of my terminals, which was too much for the standard screw to be able to fasten down. Maybe this suggestion may solve your problem.
