Hi everyone,

Long time lurker, first time poster.

I have a Sportsman 450HO that recently found itself a little too deep in the bog. It sat for a while before we got it pulled out. I took the seat off and checked the air intake before firing it up (all good), but a lot of thick black mud came out of the belt intake (or outlet, wasn’twatching that closely).

I pulled the drain plug and ran it through the revs in Neutral. I figured it would be pretty dirty inside and planned to take it in to a shop to have it properly cleaned out/destroy the evidence (its. I pulled the belt cover off today though and I don’t think it looks to bad, but I’m not entirely sure what it should look like or why might be a concern.

Let me know what you think: ride on or have it cleaned?

Blow it out, hose it off, Scotch-Brite the sheeves (perpendicular to belt rotation), clean the sheeves with brake clean applied to a clean rag, and SEND IT!!!!!
