Very handsome quad, Andreas. The pictures are very nice. Where in Germany are you located?

I have spent some time there. My work with automotive parts near BMW Spartanburg brought me to Bavaria several times over the years. A lovely country, with great people and great food. I have made lifelong friends with many native Germans here in the U.S.A.

My son lived near Spangdahlem for several years while serving in the U.S. Air Force. He enjoyed his time in Germany very much, and traveled much of Western Europe to see all that it has to offer.

You have my best wishes with your new Big Boss.
Nice to hear from you Lon and thanks for the wishes!
I was born in North Germany and live now in the south, near Stuttgart direction Heilbronn.
Have been 4 Years in the German Air Force as a mechanic for the (good old) Huey.
That was in my north time many years ago, on Ahlhorn air base.
A few A10 from your Air Force have been on the same base!

Best Regards

That is one serious ride!

We spent some years at Ramstein AB near Kaiserslautern.

From what I remember, land use restrictions would have limited ATV riding quite a bit.

That beast deserves to stretch out.

Hello America, hello Polaris Friends,

Short News: Big Boss was in the workshop for the first service, fresh oil inside. Workshop think the machine is OK after a test drive. Screws are all checked, and some fresh grease.
Talked to the shop owner because I don't know every noise Big Boss makes, mechanic say everything is standard.

In the moment I work on a double battery system, chaos in the front storage box....

And two more pics, now with 400 KM on the clock!

Hello Mel and Arly,

yes it is not easy to find a way where it is allowed to drive. It was complete stupid to buy Big Boss, that's me.....
But after driving Land Rovers (never a new one, always ex military) more then 25 years I know how to handle this.....
Arly, in the moment I work more on the machine, not with it.....

Best Regards

Good Morning America, good morning Polaris Friends!

Not sure what will be the first job today. Still some cables to fix for that winch job and yesterday the overfenders (right word?) arrived. That overfender thing should not be a big job, at the front. Rear a bit more, I have to cut them because of the rear load space.....

Then they must fit and must see how they will end under the load space. Cutting 45° to the back make a good look, maybe.......

In my age I would not run out at 06:00 in the morning just to fix that thing, first a coffee......

Best Regards from Germany

Hello America, hello Polaris Friends,

A few good news.
No I'm not ready, but will someone like me ever get ready......
But: I put all cables together and could turn the main switch for the first time! Yes the Polaris clock show 24:00 at every new start now. But just at the first start of the day, I don't deactivate the battery over a driving day.....
I have current on the system switch on 1 , 1&2 and position 2!
At this point I stopped yesterday because I really wanted to see at least one overfender.
Front left is fitted, well I like it!
Next step is to torque the srews of the cable system and fix the cables with cable ties, have not done this before the first test.....
And fit 3 more overfenders.....

BTW: Since 15:30 yesterday (German time) i had a few times a look on the TV, 24h Le Mans.
GTE PRO Second in this class: Corvette AFAIK with the engine in the new position, middle of the car....

A great run!

Best regards from Germany

Hello Polaris Friends,

after a day of rain I made a short 10 KM run yesterday. Everything was muddy, time to test ADC.
Downhill, slippery and a bit sidehilling (right word?)....
Made it in ADC Mode, could have a look for the way and exactly steering because I had nothing else to do.
Polly was running with 2 KM/H downhill, I just had to do the steering.....

Great thing!

Does somebody know if ADC will work in reverse?

Think: Going uphill and loose traction. Now you have to go backwards till you find a flat space to turn around.
Will ADC help to go backwards?

Thanks and best Regards

Andreas
