Hey guys just got a new set of 29 big horns 2.0 and just saw that they say 8 ply on the side where no where on the net says they are 8 and only states they are 6ply. Am I crazy here or can anyone tell me why mine say 8?

No I read the whole thing I'm saying most bh 2.0 I have seen are only 6ply rating and why are mine are 8. I'm not complaining since 8ply is better but I just couldn't find 8ply bh 2.0 anywhere for sale. I did buy these second hand
The 2.0's sold retail we're always 6-ply. I wonder what gives with this 8-ply rating????? I'm wondering if it's because they are taller tires and mainly used on UTV's.
On several brands of tires the lighter versions like the 2.0 are 6 ply until you get above about 27-28" and then they are 8 ply. Must be something to do with the construction for the taller ones? Probably have to make them stiffer when that tall or something.
Ahh I see your probably right since these are 29s I rode with them last weekend at 8 psi all around and were very plush on river bed rock. Only thing I noticed is a few times the power steering felt wierd and at one point in the trail it felt like the ps turned off. I reset quad and then everything was fine the rest of the day. At 8psi though on pavement the ps will strain a bit turning from a dead stop.
If you read the owner's manual it will tell you NOT to be steering PS more than necessary while stopped. All EPS units be they OEM or aftermarket warn you about that. Its very hard on steering components.
