Bought the new 570

I bought the Sportsmen 570 about a week ago. I love it so far!! Has a couple things that are dislikes but I love almost everything else. This was my first machine. I borrowed and rode 2010 grizzly 750 and after it started over heating after some short trail work I started looking for a different machine. Plus much better to own in it if you break it!

This ATV has great power even compared to the Grizzly i was impressed. I wish it had Power steering.

Dislikes the battery Looks like it was 5pm on friday and the engineers remember that they had not put the battery in the machine> So they placed it right behind front axle in the open with a little bit of protection underneath. All other sides are completly open.

Low beams are brighter then the high beam. Wish all three came on together.

The exhust run right next to your right leg. While driving the air flow push the heat out the opening in the body pannel buring the tar out of your right leg.

No 12 volt adapter that i can find.

Welcome to the forum & congrats!
Welcome to the board!:med:
Congrats on the new ride. Don't worry about the battery being exposed. It is perfectly safe there. That is where it was located on my '07 X2. If anything ever gets to it, you likely will have much more to worry about than just the battery. The warm right leg is a Polaris trademark. Gotta run the exhaust out one side or the other and it does get hot. I haven't seen a 570 in person yet, but I can't believe there isn't a 12 volt plug on it somewhere. Every Sportsman I've seen has one. Have you checked the sides of the headlight pod?
All you need is a simple 5 pin relay to do the 3 headlight mod. Google it and you will see how easy it is to do. Saw on a post a while back a guy made a heat shield out of an old vehicle license plate to block the heat from the leg. Weird that the battery is t Iner the seat like the 400,500,and 800 bikes are.
That was me that made a shield from an old license plate. Don't remember posting about it, but I don't doubt I did. I know the twins seem to be hotter on the leg (go figure), but I don't know anything about the 570. IMO, the battery position down in the frame is a much better place for it than under the fender. Easy access, not subjected to everything the tires run through and helps keep weight down low where it belongs.

From the pictures I have seen it appears to be on the left side of the headlight pod. Same as my 700 IIRC. Maybe that is common location.. never thought about it much.
I just looked at the Polaris web page and the outlet plug appears to be on the left side of headlamp pod. Right under the H in DOHC. Same place as my Sportsman 500. I looked at the 570 at a dealer last weekend. Nice machines. Just a quick glance, but the new front and rear racks looked better.
umm.. this is the 2nd thread I've seen from a new 570 owner and no pictures in either one.. Isn't that breaking the 1st rule of posting when you get a new machine?.. especially a new model?!.. Though I realize that I have contributed nothing to the content of this thread.. I trust my complaint has been duly noted and the OP will get pics up at his/her earliest convenience.. ha!..
yes, the plug is in the same spot, left side of the pod.

I looked today and found it thanks a bunch!

Will fix that tommorrow. lol:veryhappy:
ha!.. thanks cphilll.. I'm sure we're all looking forward to your pics!.. The reason I'm so hot after pics, vids and discussions about the 570, is that I have a 2010 850 Touring and have been thinking for a while now about getting a 2nd machine.. The 850 touring is outstanding and is an absolute monster in every way.. I've owned it for 3 years since new and have not had a single problem with it.. However.. Its just so bloody big and sometimes I'd like to go for a rip with something a little smaller and lighter.. The wife will ride it now and then and when my son gets older, it should be a decent hand me down.. I'm fairly brand loyal and the 500 has always been on my short list of units to consider but I won't compromise on power steering and efi.. They are simply must haves for me.. I was happy to wait around for polaris to get around to adding those features to the 500, and I really thought they would this year or next.. Then the 570 bomb was dropped.. Anyway.. here's to hoping yours and others with a 570 are as good to you as my 850 has been to me.. If it is.. There will be one in my barn in the very near future.. BTW, I sat on one at the dealer yesterday.. It was a red non eps unit and was still in the shop being set up, but wow.. The narrow seat is fantastic and the fit, finish and looks of it are very refined and more on par with a premium atv.. My only gripe with the way it looks is the same as with the 400/500/800.. That headlight/gage pod is pretty dated looking.. I wish they'd add the xp pod to it or something like it.. Just one guys opinion.. Outside of that.. Its a beauty!..

The pod may have been used longer than my 2004 700 but I think the extended LCD display went in with the '04 700 EFI.

XP digital pod would be nice
I am to pick up my 570 with EPS later today - will take lots of photos as it will never be that clean again - will post here
