Hey guys. Recently picked up a clean looking 06 predator for a song/dance because it had pretty loud upper motor tick. the guy didn't want to deal with it. After some fresh gas and a battery charge it seemed to run good.. just had a loud tick. The guy also gave me a motor rebuild receipt totaling $1600.00 from just a year and half ago. said that it had bent a valve and was rebuilt.. From the receipt I could tell the shop did a new head and new cylinder assembly. Anyhow..back to this motor tick . I figured the valves needed adjusting OR the timing chain was stretched. After buying it and digging into the motor I found something I would have never expected, a broken Cam chain guide! I am feeling pretty lucky that this didn't cause any other damage flopping around in there. I have a new one on order , as well as a new timing chain since its open. Im am very curious as to how this could happen and If anyone has ever seen this before?
