I am thinking of getting the rear rack extender to give my boot something to push/grip so I can move my weight around while trying to get out of a mud hole. Does anyone else use the extender for this? I am a little worried that since the racks are plastic, there won't be any strength supporting the extender. Will it hold weight against it? My buddies have Hondas with the steel racks and they can easily put all of their weight on it.

I have the composite. Although stout, I wouldn't reef too hard on it. I questioned the same thing when I bought mine, it's just bolted to plastic.

Never had any issues out of mine, and I'm always on the rear rack working through mud holes or riding water wheelies.
