Want more power in my 08 Sportsman 800HO and was wondering if it is possible to get it to have the power of a RZR. Has anyone done this or know more about it:question:
Really? I thought the RZR had a higher octane fuel requirement too? Just more advanced timing? Sure seems like the RZR has more than just different clutching to me.
The 800 RZR is what I'm talking about. I don't know if it is an "s" or not. There is a noticeable difference though at any rate. So, is it higher compression, cams, timing, mapping, combination of all of these? ..... Just want that kinda power in my quad!
Have you lined em up and raced, it prolly just feels more powerful, they changed the cam on the 800 engine and that's where the HO comes from. They had to change the clutch setup on the rzr for the weight difference
No, haven't lined them up but can tell the RZR is different. I have heard the RZR does have different tuning too and some guys have found a way to flash their Sportsman ecu with that tuning which is supposed to make a pretty big difference in itself. I'm sure there are other differences too. Another thing I've heard is that the advanced timing keys also make quite a bump in power. Anyone done these things on this board?
