Please bear with me, I'm new with questions.

We have two 2005 500 HO Sportsmans we bought new.
They have about 8000 miles on them now.
The carb jet needles are wearing. The clip falls out of the groove and the machine won't run. I've moved the clip up one groove and it runs fine for awhile until that groove gets worn and the clip falls out again.

Just wondering if this is normal for a machine with this many miles?
If so, where can I get jet needles that don't cost $25?
Is there a better carb than the stock Mikuni BST-40?

Thank You,

If you got 8000 miles on that machine that is awesome. It is normal wear to replace these over time. They are only available through Mikuni and 25.00 sounds about right, make sure when you get the needle you also get a new clip.
Good Luck!
