I just picked up a 22 Sportsman XP 1000 Ultimate Trail, which comes stock with the rear bumper. I want to install the Cecco Rear Diff Brace before the machine gets more use starting next month, but I emailed Cecco and they said the brace won't fit while the rear bumper is installed.

So I pose the question, am I better off with the brace and no bumper or a bumper and no brace? Riding will be mostly public trails and wooded areas, not muddy but lots of trees and shrubs.

Appreciate the input.

Look at how the OEM rear bumper is mounted, If someone rear ends you, it is going to shove that lower mount right into the rear gear case and break it. That is why I don’t have the OEM rear bumper on mine.

I am in the same boat as the original poster. I was thinking of losing the bumpers front and rear all together. Wondering how the atv looks without them? Anyone have pics? I haven had time to remove them to decide for myself.
Also I was riding it night, correct me if I am wrong but doesn't the front brush guard really screw up the headlight beam?

No, the front brush guard doesn’t affect the headlight beam, but as stated above, neither front or rear are real bumpers. FPD has real bumpers on his, ATV Guru, front and back.
