I'm looking to upgrade from my 2009 Sportsman XP 550 with EPS to a 2up. I don't think I can go without the EPS after having it. I also would love to have the 850 so it feels like I'm riding something different. My only option right now is the Touring, but would probably chose an X2 if they come out with an 850 EPS version. Anyone have the inside scoop?

possible but I have a feeling they might have something like a 950 to go with can-am 1000, also because last year the re did the ranger XP for the second time.

first the did the ranger xp
then the sportsman xp
then they did the rzr xp,
now they re did the ranger again so possible a new bike for 2014, or latest 2015

Not to many people are down with the X2. I myself think its the best atv to ever hit the market. You can ride two up legally, and use the bed to carry your work/camping gear. Everyone that has seen me haul in gear and then flip the seat out for a passenger was amazed and said "why would you buy anything else". If anything they should add the power steering and the aluminum wheels. Yea the 850 option would be bad ass too.

Yep when I bought my 850 in 2011 I wanted the X2 but nobody had one in the 850, I think there a damn good Idea and the extended wheel base makes them so stable.

I sometimes wish I had an 850, but I like the fuel economy of the 550. EPS was a little bit of a project to add, but the end result was totally worth it.

Man, now you really have me concerned. That would be my luck to act now and buy the 850 and then find out in a month and a half that a 950 is coming out. I would be so bummed out...Well, at this point I still have to sell my 550 first so I have some time to decide.

I think that if it doesn't exist yet it might not exist ever.

if you think about it the X2 is really a crossover machine, a jack of all trades. while it may do what it does well. Polaris does have 2 other models that do part of what it does only better. they likely don't want an 850 X2 for the sole reason of it stepping on the toes of the 850 Touring, and the Big Boss 800.

car companies do this all the time... the death of the Trailblazer wasn't because it wasn't selling "it was" it was because killing it would boost Equinox sales! the reason Ford killed the Ranger is because they thought the Global version would steal sales from the F150. they do this all the time.

also isn't the XP chassis still fairly young? I can see an udpate, throw the RZRs engine in it or something but i doubt they'll fully redesign them just yet. it's still a very capable chassis after all!

maybe they'll choose to redesign the value models chassis? the 400-500-800/Big Boss? they're still rocking an older chassis design right?

I really like my X2, I think that their biggest problem is lack of aftermarket accessories for the rear box and seat

I think a 550 HO XP will be next. Either that or a 900 XP. As 2 ups go, Polaris is putting their time and money into side by sides.

X's 100 on that dude. I gave up on the aftermarket and made my own lock and ride rear rack. Its like I have two rear boxes now, lol.
Someone on here once mentioned making a box that sat in the box unless you wanted to use the seat, then it would slide back out of the box. Sounded like a neat idea...but would not be able to load too much in it weight wise...or would be very tail heavy. Anyhow, I don't remember who mentioned it, and never saw the idea put into action.

Well I sold my 550 tonight! Time to go shopping in the morning!! I'm think I'm going to get the 850 LE Touring. It has the engine I want, EPS, and plenty of bells and whistles. I can always get a small trailer for hauling wood, etc. for the few times I will do it. I'm just not optimistic that Polaris will have one of my requests, let alone two of them for the 2014 X2. Dealer has the 850 Touring LE for $10,573 plus tax and $125 registration fee. I feel that is a good price. Anyone seeing anything lower?
