20140410_165100.jpg So bought a new set of 26" Pit Bull Growlers and I really wanted new 14" rims, however with all the rocks we have here in NE I would have them trashed in no time. I really don't like the plain stock rims so I decided to go with a bead lock kit. Serving as a dual purpose they will help against bent rims and also dress the bike up some. I had several dents in all four of my rims which I had to fix before the bead locks went on. Also I installed a QCS clutch kit from Ridinagain. I have to say it rides like a whole new bike, it handles better, had tons more grip and the throttle is finally snappy.

That looks amazing! It's crazy what tires and beads locks/rims do for your ride

Did you get them done through OMF? If so, how much did they charge to add the beadlock rings?

It looks really good, I like the orange.

I bought the kit off of Ebay for $200 from these guys. I had a local shop weld them on for me at $15 each, then painted the rims black and the outer ring orange and assembled it myself.

Those bead locks and tires look really really good, awesome choice. I'm surprised to hear that with the bigger heavier tires, and the clutch hit, it actually feels snappier than it did originally. I kind of figured that the clutch would just bring back what it lost from the bigger tires, but I didn't think it would surpass it. good to know. The bike looks very good. Where'd you get the bead locks done?

Did you need wheel spacers with the bigger tires on the stock rims?

No I did not need spacers, although it is pretty close to the tie rod ends. I'll keep my eye on it to see if it rubs, I don't think I will have an issue though those tire are pretty stiff in the side walls.

Looks awesome...... keep us posted on how you like the tires! I've been looking at those, some reptile or big horns - can't decide.

Fun2Bhad, your orange Polaris looks Great. Love the Pit Bull Growler BG2.5 XOR tires. The link to the squealing tire is my review. I tried to destroy the new Growlers but never even put a plug in them.

I had some new 25 inch Growler BG 2.5 XOR tires out this last weekend with the same results.

Thanks for posting up your thoughts as well.

Your quad is looking mighty good!! Can't wait for the 27s to come out this summer. The more I read, the better these tires sound.

I'm really considering doing this instead of buying aftermarket rims. I have found several sets of steel wheels on Craigslist for cheap. However none of them include center caps, where do I go about getting those? Are these the same offset as my stock xp rims? Probably ought to get spaces to be safe because I may go 27".

Center caps you can get on eBay real cheap. Value line rims do have a different offset than the XP line. You can get steal rims for an XP though. I'm not sure about the spacers, I didn't get them and I have about an 1/8 of clearance from the Tie Rod ends. I've had it out for a few good rides and I haven't had any rubbing issues as of yet. The tires stand 26.5 tall.

So far I love the tires! The quad handles so much better, it used to under steer some when going into a corner hard and now it just bites right in. The tires did stiffen up the ride a lot though (feel more bumps etc) In the mud they are excellent I haven't had to use 4x4 yet, taking it through mud holes where I have had to use it in the past.
