Has anyone used silicone instead of the gasket for the clutch cover. Lost the gasket and the dealer closes in an hour

I think silicone would be a pain to use because of cleaning it off every time you take the cover off. I have heard of people using it though. I also read someone using a wax ring for a toilet. I can't see why it wouldn't work and I would think it would come off a little easier. I was going to try that if the factory gasket leaked on me.

What I did was run a thick bead of rtv where the gasket would have been and let it dry for about six hours than installed the cover. I was trying to accomplish a more permanent gasket. Ill find out how well it works next time I go through some water.

I used silicone on my cover and my backing plate. It stays dry as a bone and my belt drive stays under water.
