make shure the clutch bolt that holds it to the crank is tight and the clutch is seated properly. you also want to make shure the bushing is still good. iv never had this prob so this is my best guess at your prob
I've got the same bike and I had to replace the clutch cover because it had gotten distorted overtime from the heat. It shrunk and the clutch was rubbing on the bottom and wore a hole in it. Mechanic at a local shop said it is not uncommon on these bikes. He suggested to make sure you always put the bike in low when it should be.
