I have two 05 sportsmen and the fiber-embedded composite racks are deteriorating and giving tiny little glass' slivers to any bare skin that touches them. Any ideas how to deal with this? If it were fiberglass, i'd wetsand and paint but I don't even know what this stuff is. I called Polaris customer service and was told to call a dealer (WTH?). The local dealers have seen it but offer no solution. Very appreciative of anything you all can suggest.

I would get some of the rhino lining in a can and see if that would help. It should keep the racks covered and may help keep any further damage from happening. just be sure not to cover any of the bolts or moving parts if there are any. If at all possible i would also look into replacing them with steal ones so that this wouldnt be an issue anymore.
