I’m putting new crank seals in my 96 Xplorer 400 and managed to push the mag-side seal about 1/16” in beyond flush with the outside of the case. The top side is sitting flush but the bottom is recessed a little bit.
Not sure how I managed such a thing. Is this going to lead to a leak? Is there any way to pull it back out flush without ruining it or splitting the case? I used a large screw to get the old one out which ruins the seal, of course.
I put yamabond on the outside of the seal and grease on the inside lip.
Thoughts? Thanks!
