The recent CV joint repair thread with pictures was fantastic. I am in the middle of the process and am having the same issue with finding the correct order to get the bearings in. I want make sure I am not doing it wrong. Am I correct in facing the smaller diameter end of the cage inward (toward the differential) and the larger diameter end toward the shaft? Also, How do I know when I have enough grease in the joint? My repair manual says not to over fill, but most recommendations I have seen say it doesn't matter.
