The problem is probably in the carb, but could be a clogged exhaust or possibly a cam and rocker arm problem.

 

Brand new carb. Pulled it apart as it sat for a year and was pristine. Still ran carb cleaner through it. Definitely not the carb unless it’s the fuel air mix screw which I played with a little tonight. Would exhaust be plugged if I can feel air going through it

Unless it is a brand new oem carb it’s the carb. If it is an Amazon Chinese made junk carb it’s the carb. If you have the oem original carb rebuild it don’t just clean it. If you don’t have it find one.

 

That’s the point we are trying to make. Is it a new OEM carb or is it a junk Chinese replacement carb from Amazon . Because if it is it is the carb that is most likely the problem. They do not come jetted and tuned for your exact application and most times no jets or needles are available to tune them.
