Tore the entire sidewall out of one of the rear factory Carlisle 489's on my "new" to me 2011 Sportsman 800 EFI and was in search of something economical to get me by for a while. A fellow forum member made me a great deal on a set of OEM Maxxis tires and steel wheels off of his 2011 550 XP and GUESS WHAT??? They don't fit!! Of course I checked the specs and made sure they both had the same hole pattern, and that lines up perfectly, but the center hole is smaller... WHY?? Why would they make different size center holes? And it looks like the lug nuts will have to be changed, the new rims take tapered lug nuts. Looks like they may be real close to the swaybar too...

Any ideas how I can make these work? I'd change out the rims, but mine were 12" and the new ones are 14"..

Post them up on Craig's List to trade for another set..... you'll get a bite!

As said, Wheel spacers are an option -Or- take them to a local machine shop and see if they can bore out the center hole to the diameter you need.

Nothing about toys is cheap!
