1995 Scrambler 400 4x4 two stroke.

My hand break is extremely strong. pull the handle and the front wheel will lock up. But the foot pedal brake is nothing. push it down, no action at all. I opened the bleeder screw and nothing came out. not even with foot pressure.

Do the front and rear brake work off the same fluid reservoir? whats going on here?

Your rear caliper should have to brake lines giong to it. Follow the line for the footbrake and you will see the rear master cylinder. The hand lever and footbrake have seperate handlevers. On mine i would open the bleeder and nothing would come out. I unscrewed the whole bleeder out and found a piece of mud in their so i cleaned it out and bled the brakes and the foot brake worked great.

undo the locknut, wind the screw in and tighten the lock nut. Make sure you actually have back brake shoes.
