lots broke though? Yes, the time frame is whenever it is being used - things break either prematurely, due to neglect or mis-use. It's 20 years old - it's a relic - like what should I expect to break on my 99 Ford F150 other than the odometer which quit working years ago - it indicates speed just fine, but it will never have more than 250,000 miles on it.

I honestly don't know if it's free to replace?

Check with a dealer ....

No - it is no longer covered by the recall - all the replacement parts are depleted and NLA
