I just got a 2000 Polaris Trail Boss 325 from my sisters husband. He pulled it out of the junk yard he works at. It cranks and runs great, but I am having issues with the electrical system. I can jump the solenoid and it will crank right up but I cant get it to start with the start button on the hand controls. The lights do not work. No head light or tail light. The oil cooler fan doesn't run. Indicator lights don't come on. I pulled the ignition switch and Im getting power to it. Can anyone tell me what might be keeping me from getting power? I replaced the shortstop. Can I replace the ignition with a toggle?

Check for power at the small wire on the solenoid when pushing the start button. Since you can jump the solenoid and make it run, I am guessing there is an issue in between the switch and the key switch. Or the in the wiring between the start button and the solenoid. You are gonna have to get wiring diagrams and start testing. It's a pain but that is really the only way to track it down.
