We have had a brutal spring here in Alberta. The cold was just not going away. So finally we said enough is enough were going out! Had a great ride at a local area. The RCMP were out in full force. We got checked on the trail (we all carry papers) and spotted crusiers on the gravel roads around all afternoon. Saw a group of guys that were getting written up for something. I dont mind them out there checking, more enforcement will push the people who dont take care away making it safer for me snd my family.

That's very true, glad you had a good time! Here in Saskatchewan it's rather ugly too..... But I can't complain too much, at least it's not -50℃!

the presence of authority typically just drives the people that don't want to obey the rules to places that are more illegal to ride and thus making more people against riding all together. but it's a catch 22 because if you don't have the authorities then the riding isn't safe for those that do obey the rules.
