Hello all,

I am new to the board and new to owning a used 2008 Sportsman 800 HO. I purchased it used from a dealer with 1056 miles. I just went through the machine and changed all fluids, alignment, Etc.

Upon cleaning machine, I was cleaning the right front CV shaft, and there seems to be some horizontal and vertical play at the differential. It seems like the carrier bearing in the differential might be bad or is there supposed to be that much play on the right side CV shaft up there.

The left side seems to be tight like you think it should be. No play at all.

Thanks.

It's hard to tell by you just explaining it. They do move a little. If it isn't completely sloppy then it should be fine. You could remove the axle and make sure none of the teeth are messed up both on the axle and also on the diff. Or maybe the C clip that holds the axle in is worn out. Just throwing things out there.
