Wondering if anyone has had this problem?
Or might have a solution to fix the latches on the front storage lid?
I recently bought a 2017 Sportsman, which is close to new barely any miles or hours.
I just took it out for the first time on some mountain trails.
The two "latches" that secure the front plastic storage area lid/cover just will not stay latched.
I mean if you even look at the things funny they pop open?
Seems like a crappy design, just the flexible rubber things.
Seems they should be rigid material?
I held it down that day with two short bungees, to get through the ride.
But would be nice to figure out a better solution.
Thanks for any help or advice on this! :)

To recycle it, turn it inside out and shake the fun out of it!

Sportsman23 is secretly bragging to us all that he stretched out his rubber beyond their usefulness.. probably way past the serial numbers too. If he were a Star Wars character they would have named him Hung So-Lo. No one likes a bragger!

Before you replace the latches, try adjusting the hinge. There are 2 bolts holding the front hinge assembly to the frame. Loosen them up just a bit and see if adjusting it helps.

Did you replace yours with these?
If yes, they work well huh?
The stock one's on mine suck, they do hold cargo cover shut at all.
No I haven’t but the dimensions are there to check. But do what Mike_B says. Doesn’t hurt to check. Your Atv has such low miles, hard to believe there gone already.

Yes I hear you there, weird they do not hold at all?
Seems if it were a ridged hasp it would last forever.. But the rubber thing does not hold this for a NY minute..
Had to bungee both sides to get it to run the trails all day that day,.

They are riveted on. You have to drill out the rivets to replace the originals.
Have you checked if the hinges are warped or the rubber seal under the lid is gone? That would allow the lid to drop down further than normal and keep the latches from securing it tight.
