My 05 sportsman 800 front tires are leaning in on the top. Do I need new
struts? All bushings and bearings are new or in great condition. Any help
would be appreciated.

Heavy duty springs - EPI or High Lifter will do the job really well. Lots of us on here have upgraded the springs. Polaris may offer HD springs for your model as well.
I asked my dealer same question about my Rzr 800 he told me that it is normal for the VL Sportsman ans older design Rzr. Supposedly it keeps more tire on the ground in different situations. I have noticed it on just about ever non XP I have seen

X2 :fing02:

I personally put High Lifter HD's on both front and rear of my 2012 Sportsman 800 and couldn't be happier!!

Another option (or "band-aid", some may say), is a pvc spring spacer.... which I did on our 2005 Sportsman 400 (should be same suspension as your 2005 machine). Which has also worked great and was far cheaper in comparison.

But I still prefer the ride of the HD springs over the PVC Spacers..... :silvia:

Sounds to me like that dealer is "blowing smoke up your @ss".... As if that was truly the case, over simple design and spring fatigue.... like you said, you'd see it on every XP model also (as it is the "superior" design, power & ride).

Thanks for the reply. Definitely not normal to be leaning in on the tires. Purely an issue of being worn out. We put a lot of hard miles on our ATV's. The nice thing about Polaris is they ride so smooth over rough trails and we tend to forget how much abuse they are taking. I maintain 4 Sportsman's for my family. I have replaced more bushings, bearing, boots to understand the need to upgrade suspension parts. I am currently on Highlifters site for stronger springs.

Maybe but every 400 500 and 800 I drove with has a touch of lean. The older King Quads did the same thing. I also run a better shock and spring on my RZR(Bandits) and it is the same. Maybe what the OP is having is more drastic then I am talking about I don't know. Also isn't the geometry of the XP suspension different and that is why it is not there? Polaris by far has the best ride out there that is why I bought them. My family rides alot over in NH and its usually 100 miles plus a day and you want to be comfy for sure and these two machines I have fit the bill.
Well High lifter doesn't make springs for an 05 sportsman.
Robear how are the balljoints? Chk epi and pure polaris for front springs.

This is not the truth. Both my VL models do it and so do all my friends. There has been hundreds of post all over the net about this going way back. My X2 is an 06 so it goes back that far for sure. If all the parts are ok on the front ride it unless it bothers you. If you want to fix the lean of the tires put on some HD springs.

Polaris HD coils solve the problem. $75 for the set from Polaris.

X2. Mine had a slight camber when it was new, but eventually got considerably worse. The polaris hd springs straighten it right up.
