Fuel Programmer/ tuner questions

I have read a few forums on programmers and tuners but have a few specific questions. I have a 2012 Sportsman 800 EFI. I want to add a tuner to increase performance a little but my main question is will it help with fuel economy? When I ride trails with a group I am by far the first person needing to fuel up. I have a stock air filter and the exhaust I have is hmf swamp series. What programmer do you guys suggest or is there some other way to help fuel burn, and add a little performance. Thanks in advance for the help!

...............is there some other way to help fuel burn, and add a little performance.
Increasing the oxygen in the air or decreasing the fuel in the air is the best way to get better performance and increase fuel mileage, but you need to increase fuel to air when under acceleration or as load increases. As for increased power, there is no substitute for cubic inches other than forced induction and both require more air thus more fuel. Tuners only work if you have a working knowledge of the changes you are making and can see the the results of the changes you make on a dyno chart.

Absolutely. I love the bike but she is thirsty…. I’d much rather spend the money on a winch than a programmer anyway

The 800s are notorious gas hogs. Mount a Rotopax and keep on trucking.
