My cheap fix was to get one of the soft sided tactical cases and slide the shoulder straps over the upright part of the rear seat. The bag can get a little muddy but it works great. I guess only if you have a touring though
I was in you same shoes. What I did is that I added the front rack extender then used the kolpin rhino grip xl with the handlebar/rack mount. It has worked for me so far & with those mounts u can remove the rhino grips & leave the mounts when you are not using them.
Ok, so I got impatient and went ******* style. Drilled holes and bolted them down. Works for me! I will get some flat black paint later on to paint the bolt heads. Close enough together that the racks will hold my 18-1/2" barreled shotgun, yet far enough apart to hold my hunting rifle. Of course, the racks also work well for toting a shovel.
I bought the Cabelas rear TAC bag. It has decent storage and the Cabelas TAC gun case snaps right to it. It probably isn't the greatest for someone who wants to have passengers often. I don't have to worry about that so it does pretty good for me. It served me well during last shotgun season.
