I just joined the forum because I have a couple of questions. I'm hoping the forum will help me get more out of my Sportsman experience. I just moved to the desert of Arizona after living above 5500 feet. My 05 Sportsman HO is carbureted. I had the local shop put in high altitude weights and main jet. Since moving to a low altitude location in June I have not ridden yet. Have a 90 mile desert ride coming up in 3 weeks and I have 3 questions:

Can I change the main jet with the Carb on the quad or do I need to take the carb off to get it right? Any guidance/suggestions welcome.

Do I need to remove the clutch to swap back to my old weights? Any guidance/suggestions welcome.

Does anyone think I should carry extra fuel to go 90 miles? from what I understand the ride is desert, with rolling hills, a few washes but we will be travelling fast with no need for 4wd until we get to the colorado river where there are gas stations.
