I am contemplating about buying a 2005 Polaris predator 500, the guy is selling it for 450 bucks and supposedly the only thing wrong with it is where the spark plug goes it looks like someone took a grinder too it and it needs new plastics, I will upload some pictures will someone please tell me what caused this and is it fixable, if so what is a ballpark figure of what im going to have to pay to fix it? this will tell me whether or not to buy the quad. thanks you- Clay

Cut off switch in kill position. Ignition switch defective. Low battery. Bad CDI ignition module... Why don't you change them once and for all...?? I'd have done that for sure instead of doing all the tedious work...

For only 450, I promise you that there's a lot more wrong than he's telling you. I can't tell anything from the pic, but if it looks like it's been ground on, then there's a good chance that metal got into the engine and it's shot. If you do get it, be prepared to do a complete rebuild, with maybe a new head too.
