I am looking for some assistance with my 89 Trailblazer. I purchased this machine very cheep knowing that it had issues and that I had to fix it to get it going. Not a problem. However I am stumped at this point. I have good compression, spark and fresh fuel and am unable to get it started. It turns over well and just doesn't seem to want to fire. I have checked everything that I can think of.

If anyone can offer some assistance I would greatly appreciate it. Thank much and have a GREAT DAY!!!

What PSI do you consider "good compression"? Did you do a compression test?

110psi. I also just put a new piston and rings in it along with a different head.
110 sounds low for brand new piston and rings. Did you have the cylinder bored or at least honed? Did you install the piston backwards? It's possible to do that.

I had the cylinder honed and I'm pretty sure I installed the cylinder correctly. I will have to recheck that though to be sure. I knew about the P on the cylinder when I put everything back together.
