Hey forum! I went to go sell my '04 500 and the guy told me that my engine vibrated to much at idle. When I looked closely, it had a slight engine movement, but it's nothing that's ever stood out to me. It's not like a Harley where it's wobbling in there, but you could see slight movement back and forth at idle. When throttle is applied. No vibration. Anyone else notice this or is it normal? It spooked the buyer, but assured him it was normal.

Hard to tell without looking of course. He may have not have been use to a powersports machine, which does vibrate. It's not uncommon for people new to machines to thing the vibrate\rattle\make to much noise, etc...when it's normal. You can check the rubber engine mounts, make sure one's not broken. Other than that, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Let him mosey on and find a new buyer.

I had a buddy whose 06' 800 vibrated from the rubber motor mount pinning the motor to the frame. He limped back to camp; but failed to realize it loosened his dipstick & he lost all his & burnt up the motor. Good luck, if there's excessive vibration check the mounts.
