Hi guys, I'm new here to your forum, I got 2010 sportsman 400, last summer started running out of gas, but wasn't empty, can see something in bottom of tank, that is where the gas level is, can I just push that down?

Not sure what you are seeing, but the filter/check valve on the hose of the pick up tube should be in the lowest portion of the tank.

I thought i would post this thread to help new people who do not know any members and might have a question, to help who the best person on this forum might be to personally address the question, or bring their attention to a certain thread.

I have a few years of polaris parts experience and sales experience too. I also have special access to the dealer site. Most of my knowledge is on the newer machines. I can help with parts and sells with all models polaris (atv's, sideXsides, snowmobiles, and watercraft) i have installed almost every accessory in the polaris book at one time or another. i have also done a lot of "little" service shop stuff, but nothing major. but being behind the parts counter, i felt like a service guy a lot of the time.

Hi, I am SabinalGadi, I never had one of these atv's. I just bought a 325 trail boss. It makes a horrible striking sound in the transmission area when I accelerate. No sound when idling or moving slowly. Sounds like it doesn't want to go into gear or pop out and in repeatedly when giving it the gas. Is there a forum for troubleshooting and guidance? Or is this normal?

My neighbor's daughter got a freebie Sportsman 90. Previous owner said "it wasn't creating spark" and took it apart. The drivetrain is still bolted in, but that's about it. Basically no wires left, and the body and fuel/oil tanks are in a separate pile. I'm kind of assuming it's a bad CDI, and no factory replacement is available anymore. He bought one of those universal wiring harnesses, but it's also in the pile.

I'll probably have some questions as I look into it. VIN plate is so worn, I can't even get a year, but its location on the front makes me think it's an old girl, 2001-2003 from what info I could find online. As a starting point, anyone know of a place to find a service manual for it?
